- Saturday, Jan 10th: Mountain View HS New Years Invite at Mountain View Aquatics Center (3500 Mountain Lion Drive, Loveland, Co 80537) Notify Coach Nicole ASAP if you will NOT be able to attend and WHY! Meet entries DUE by Tuesday afternoon! Meet info below:
Timer needed: Rock Canyon needs to supply ONE TIMER for the entire meet. Timer meeting 9:15 am meet starts at 9:30 am. Parents please let me know if you are willing to time in Loveland and you can take shifts. Meet will last 4-5 hours.
Dive warm up starts at 8 am for all divers
Swim Warm up for Rock Canyon HS starts at 8:30 am! Please car pool and leave yourself plenty of time to arrive in Loveland no later than 8 or 8:15 am to park and set up in the gym! This will be a fun and fast meet with opportunity for awesome swims! Team area will be in gym so bring chairs, towels, blankets etc to sit on and warm clothes.
Teams competing: RCHS, Wellington, Colorado Academy, Regis, Grandview, Douglas County, Roosevelt, Valor, Liberty Common, Estes Park, MVHS!
We are excited to attend this MVHS New Years Invite where all swimmers & divers can compete at the same pool at the same time! Swimming & Diving will compete simultaneously as they have a separate Diving well. Coach Kathy and our awesome divers will be there!
- JAG SWIM & DIVE SENIOR CEREMONY - Sunday, Jan 12th, 2 pm - 4 pm, in the Commons at Rock Canyon HS. All JAG Swimmers & Divers, Please join us as we celebrate our Special Seniors on Sunday, Jan 12th. It is hard to believe that all of our Wonderful Seniors will be Graduating and moving on to their next amazing Chapter in Life! We are so grateful be a part of their Life Journeys. Thank you to all of our Awesome Swim Parents & JAG Juniors who are helping to make our Seniors feel as Magical as they are!
- Head Timer needed for Home Meet, Thursday, Jan 16th against ThunderRidge! We are so grateful to Jorge Zaparolli as our Head Timer extraordinaire. Jorge will be out of town Thursday, Jan 16th. Please notify me if you are willing to be our Head Timer on Jan 16th at Northridge. Head Timer should arrive at 3:15 pm. Timers need to arrive for Timer meeting at 3:30 pm.
As we approach the 2nd half of our season, continue to focus, work hard and diligently at practice and breathe. Take care of yourselves physically and mentally. Rest, hydrate, eat healthy with plenty of fruits, veggies, protein & healthy carbs and try to get plenty of Rest. Continue to shine in and out of the pool. You have all supported each other so beautifully and that positive energy helps us all be the best we can be!

- ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY & GIFT EXCHANGE: Thank you to all who attended our Annual JAG Holiday party and gift exchange! This year's party was so Festive and Special. We want to thank Lenja, Jamie and the Osborne family for providing us with the Fabulous Scandanavian Feast both Sweet & Savory! We especially enjoyed Lenja's explanation of the history and significance of each and every home made Scandanavian Treat and Tradition. - COACHES INVITE (THE REX MEMORIAL INVITE): We are so proud and excited to bring 17 swimmers to The 2024 Rex Abelein Memorial Coaches Invite Swim Meet at VMAC Pool on Saturday, Dec. 21st! All swimmers had to make a qualifying time in order to participate and the best swimmers in Colorado in all classed will be competing! FYI this is a Prelim/Final Meet. Doors open for Swimmers & Spectators at 6:30 am, warm up starts promptly at 7 am to 8:15 am and Prelims start at 830 am. Prelims will last 4 hours. Top 30 Athletes will compete in Finals. Finals Warm up starts at 2:30 pm, Finals meet starts at 3:30 pm. Swimmers please arrive to VMAC Pool by 6:15 am to secure our Deck Seating & start warm up! You have set a wonderful tradition by surprising your Freshmen and New Swimmers with a super early pick up and Treat! Thank you to all Parents who helped make this happen as well. - Regis Meet Tuesday, 12/17 at Regis HS. Rock Canyon Warm up 3:20 pm, Meet stats at 4 pm. Emerson Leddick will be filming during the meet we are so excited! We will be celebrating our DIVERS finally as we can support & watch them dive. As a Bonus some of the divers will be swimming!! Meet Theme is CHRISTMAS! Wear Christmas attire to school on Tuesday! Meet entries are done! If you are entered in the meet you are swimming. It is extremely difficult to make any changes at this point. We will post entries and a meet program on our website.

- BIG CAT BRAWL: Lets bring home the Big Cat Trophy for the 3rd Year! Meet theme is Jaguar/Big Cat print! Wear your animal prints to school!
- Friday, December 6 swimmers dismissed at noon. New warm up time 3 pm. Arrive at Littleton HS by 2 pm. Prelims start at 3:35 pm. Spectators will pay an entry fee. Swimmers Bring Snacks, warm clothes and blanket to sit on in the gym. No athletes allowed in Bleachers only in gym This will be a very well attended meet and Prelims will run long but will be fun! Bleachers will be full! Concessions will be available.
- Saturday, December 7 Diving warm up 7:30 am, Diving starts at 9 am.
- Saturday, December 7 Swimming Finals warm up 11:30 - 12:45 pm. Meet starts at 1 pm.
- Format: Each school will advance 1 finalist in every event this year. The remaining spots will be filled by fastest finishers in prelims regardless of Schools up to 18th place. A School may not advance more than 3 swimmers per event and only 1 relay per team.
- Team Dinner at Newks Monday, December 9th at 5 pm - 6 pm after practice: All Athletes are encouraged to attend. Yummy Dinner provided for Swimmers & Divers. Newks is donating a percentage of Purchases from 2-8 pm to our JAG Swim & Diver Family! Flyer attached! Please share with Friends & Family. - MENTAL PERFORMANCE TRAINING & MENTAL STRENGTH TRAINING PROGRAM! We are inspired and excited to add this new program to our JAG Swim & Dive Season. The Mental Performance Training & Mental strength training introductory session, led by Christina Kwon, was held on Wednesday, November 13. Thank you to all who attended and participated in this first session. Special Thank you to Emerson Leddick for videoing the session. We will send and post a link to the Video. We will be incorporating this program into our season. ALL ATHLETES must watch this video as there is homework. We will revisit our homework during practice and have another session the first week in December. I have attached a RECAP of our initial session. Please familiarize yourselves.
HOMEWORK for all Athletes: KNOW YOUR WHY! There is no right or wrong answer! Why do you love to swim or dive? What brings you to the pool every day? Why this Team (Rock Canyon)? Knowing your why is crucial to knowing your purpose!

Happy Snow Day JAGS!
We cannot hold our Camp this afternoon as School and Activities have been cancelled.
I have included my previous e-mail below but wanted to touch base with some updates and information!
- Second Team Suit and Apparel Store: We have opened up a second apparel and team suit store as many missed the opportunity. Please order your team gear ASAP. The link is the same as in my e-mail below!

- Wednesday, November 13th: All Athletes Swimmers and Divers should attend this extremely valuable and awesome opportunity we are providing this year with "The Performance Mind". The first session is a Mental Performance Orientation & Introduction session at RCHS immediately after school, 2:50 pm to approximately 3:45 pm for ALL SWIMMERS & DIVERS! We will meet outside of the office at 2:50 pm after school. We have reserved an upstairs large area in the Hallway for this session. Wear Clothes you can stretch in. Bring your YOGA Mat and something to take notes with. You may use your cell phone, IPAD or pen and paper. Christina Kwon will be our Mental Performance Coach who will lead us through this very beneficial process throughout our season. It is extremely important for all athletes to attend. Briefly, We will cover techniques and strategies for Goal Setting, Building Confidence, Focus and Concentration, Emotional Regulation, Resilience, Visualization and Communication. These skills will help you in every aspect of your life not just in the Water! Please make EVERY EFFORT to attend. After our Initial Orientation on November 13th for about 45 minutes, we will have brief 10-minute sessions weekly.
- Saturday, December 14th: Senior Hosted Breakfast at Senior Elizabeth Lemeshewsky's home. Thank you Lizzy and Mama Katie! We would love all swimmers and divers attend. Time and address will be confirmed.
- Pre-season camp will be entering our 4th and final week next week. We will be running some of our tryout sets next week so that you are prepared for Tryouts the first 3 days of Official Practice. Weather permitting, please make every effort to attend!
